Introduction - Sperry Van Ness/LowCountry Property Advisors, Inc. (SVN/LCPA) is a client-focused real estate investment-banking firm headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina. SVN/LCPA provides brokerage services as well as transactional counseling to individual and institutional clients as well as debt and equity placements on a nationwide basis, with a particular emphasis on 1031 (tax deferred exchange) buyers in the major markets in the Southeastern United States. - SVN/LCPA was founded in early
2008 after Scott re-located from Atlanta and worked under the SVN/Real
Estate Capital Advisors, Inc. name from 2002 to early 2008. Scott started
in 1983 in the appraisal/valuation field (and earned his MAI, Member
Appraisal Institute designation in 1990). From 1990 to 1996, Scott worked
with Citibank's Citicorp Real Estate subsidiary handling valuations,
workouts, asset management, and dispositions and securitization/investment
banking assignments. From 1996 to 2002, Scott was an independent investment
sales broker under the name Real Estate Capital Advisors, Inc. In early
2002, RECA joined joined Sperry Van Ness as a national affiliate to
increase RECA's exposure to West Coast properties and buyers. SVN's
nationwide network of investment sales brokers and the excellent brand
name recognition of SVN across the nation and the globe. Today, SVN/LCPA
is focused exclusively on transactional services and counseling on investment
properties. That is, no property management, development, land, leasing,
etc. - just excellent service representing sellers with disposition
needs of income producing properties across the Southeastern United
